Dehradun: Geetika Pant from Bageshwar and Naincy Dubey from Dehradun have emerged as exemplary achievers in the Uttarakhand board examination results, showcasing remarkable perseverance amid personal challenges.
Geetika achieved a score of 98% in Class 12, sharing the top rank in the state. Throughout her studies, she balanced her academic responsibilities with caring for her ailing grandfather, who passed away shortly before the results were announced. In light of her success, Geetika attributed her achievements to her grandfather and expressed gratitude for the support of her father, a taxi driver, and her family, who helped her navigate the financial difficulties they faced. She has aspirations of becoming an engineer.
Naincy Dubey secured the highest marks in her Dehradun school for Class 10, scoring 83%. Her family relocated from Uttar Pradesh due to agricultural losses and the loss of their land. With her father working as a gardener, the family could not afford private tutoring; consequently, Naincy relied on self-study and free resources available to her. She hopes to pursue a career in science and aspires to join the merchant navy.
Across Uttarakhand, girls have outperformed boys in this year’s examinations, highlighting a positive trend in pass percentages. Numerous students from modest backgrounds have also achieved top ranks through dedication and discipline, reflecting a broader commitment to education in the state.
