NEW DELHI: The remains of three civilians who had been reported missing were discovered on Saturday near a waterfall in the higher elevations of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, according to officials.
Darshan Singh (40), Yogesh Singh (32), and Varun Singh (15) went missing on March 5 while returning from a wedding event in Lohai Malhar, Billawar tehsil. A substantial search effort was initiated in the Lohai Malhar region of Kathua district to locate the trio.
A member of the BJP legislative assembly raised the issue in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly on Friday, seeking a response from the government.
“I wish to bring to your attention the three missing civilians. We are looking for answers from the government,” stated Satesh Sharma.
In January, the unexplained deaths of two individuals in an agricultural field in Kathua had instigated widespread anxiety and distress in the area.
Shamsher (37) and Roshan (45) were found deceased on the banks of a stream in Batheri village, located in the Billawar area, with their farming tools nearby, raising doubts about the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
