The combined market valuation of seven of the top-ten most-valued companies in India declined by ₹2.05 lakh crore last week, driven primarily by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Reliance Industries, as the equity markets experienced a bearish trend.

During the previous week, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex fell by 1,829.33 points, amounting to a decrease of 2.33 percent, while the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty dropped by 455.6 points, or 1.87 percent.

“Markets concluded the week lower following two weeks of gains, impacted by rising geopolitical tensions and weak earnings reports from major IT firms,” stated Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President of Research at Religare Broking Ltd.

Global events have continued to shape market movements, particularly with the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the West Asia crisis and concerns over potential supply disruptions, which have kept crude oil prices elevated.

The market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services fell by ₹66,699.44 crore, bringing its total to ₹8,67,364.12 crore. Reliance Industries experienced a decline of ₹50,670.34 crore, with a current valuation of ₹17,96,647.50 crore.

Additionally, HDFC Bank saw a decrease of ₹23,090.05 crore to reach ₹12,08,225.48 crore, while the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) lost ₹19,670.75 crore, now valued at ₹5,13,020.56 crore. The market capitalization of Bharti Airtel fell by ₹19,406.59 crore to ₹11,05,718.62 crore.

ICICI Bank’s market valuation decreased by ₹14,663.27 crore to ₹9,50,345.40 crore, and Larsen & Toubro’s dropped by ₹11,142.62 crore to ₹5,52,171.88 crore.

Despite the overall decline, Hindustan Unilever’s market valuation rose by ₹20,652.91 crore to ₹5,47,219.80 crore. State Bank of India saw an increase of ₹19,522.76 crore, bringing its valuation to ₹10,16,752.53 crore, and Bajaj Finance added ₹8,253.64 crore to reach a total of ₹5,73,690.81 crore.

Reliance Industries remains the most valued domestic company in the country, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever, and LIC.
