In a significant development for the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has been appointed as the new director of cricket operations. This decision, made by the HCA’s apex council, places Rayudu in charge of overseeing cricketing activities, development programs, and enhancing operational efficiency within the association.

The HCA highlighted Rayudu’s extensive experience both on and off the field, which they believe will be instrumental in advancing the board and inspiring the next generation of cricketers from Hyderabad. In his response to the appointment, Rayudu expressed his commitment to transforming Hyderabad into a leading hub for Indian domestic cricket.

Rayudu emphasized, “Cricket should be separated from administration and all other administrative matters. Cricket should be run with players in mind. It is my job to look after players’ welfare and to make Hyderabad what it truly deserves to be—a powerhouse of Indian domestic cricket that produces numerous international cricketers,” as reported by Cricbuzz.

Rayudu’s official appointment was announced during a media conference, where he was joined by HCA president Amarnath and secretary M Jeevan Reddy. In his new role, Rayudu stated his first priorities would be to ensure corruption-free cricket and implement a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption.

“Our fundamental commitment is to make cricket corruption-free. No exceptions—anyone found guilty will be reported to the ACSU and the BCCI and will be blacklisted. This includes players, parents, selectors, and umpires. This committee will also ensure that selectors are free from corruption,” Rayudu declared.
