Openers Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 27 and 15 runs, respectively. Urvil Patel added 13 runs, while Kartik Sharma struck 32 runs off 19 deliveries. The highlight of the first innings came from Dewald Brevis, who was the top scorer with 44 runs. Shivam Dube chipped in with 26 runs to help CSK set their total. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pat Cummins was the standout bowler, taking three wickets. Sakib Hussain collected two wickets, with Praful Hinge and Ishan Malinga each taking one.
In the chase, Sunrisers Hyderabad started with an opening partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, who scored 26 and 6 runs, respectively. Ishan Kishan emerged as the key player, remaining unbeaten with 70 runs from 47 balls. Heinrich Klaasen also made a notable contribution, scoring 47 runs off 26 deliveries. Kishan’s performance was integral to Sunrisers’ successful five-wicket victory, hindering CSK’s hopes of advancing to the playoffs.
For Chennai, Mukesh Choudhary was the leading wicket-taker with two wickets to his name. Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmad, and Akeal Hosein each claimed one wicket, but it was insufficient to change the outcome. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured their place in the playoff stage of the tournament.
