The new Vivo V50 promises to deliver a premium-adjacent experience with its ZEISS-collaboration on optics, a super-bright display, and long-lasting battery life. But does it truly live up to the hype? Let’s find out.

Design

The Vivo V50 boasts a sleek design with a unique Rose Red colorway that is more maroon than red. The glass back gives it a premium feel, and the camera module is neatly integrated into the corner. The phone features a sizeable 6.77-inch AMOLED display with up to 120 Hz refresh rates and 4,500 nits of peak brightness, protected by Vivo’s Diamond Shield Glass.

Multimedia

Watching content on the Vivo V50 is a treat with its vibrant display. However, the audio quality falls a bit short, sounding tinny at higher volumes. For the best experience, using earphones is recommended. The phone supports HDR10+ for vivid visuals on compatible content platforms.

Camera

The Vivo V50’s camera setup includes a 50 MP primary lens with optical image stabilization and a 50 MP ultrawide lens with a 119-degree field of view. The Aura Light flash system allows for customizable flash options, making it great for stylized portraits. The ZEISS collaboration brings unique bokeh effects to portraits, enhancing the overall photography experience.

Tech Specs

Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, the Vivo V50 delivers smooth performance with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The phone runs on Funtouch OS 15 (based on Android 15) and promises three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.

Battery

With a massive 6,000mAh battery, the Vivo V50 provides excellent battery life for extended multimedia and gaming sessions. The 90W fast charging capability ensures quick recharging in under an hour.

Verdict

The Vivo V50 impresses with its unique design, vibrant display, excellent battery life, and versatile camera setup. While it may lag occasionally, it is a solid choice for users seeking a reliable smartphone for daily use. Overall, the Vivo V50 is worth considering for its impressive features and performance.

Snapshot

  • Price: ₹34,999 (8GB+128GB)
  • Pros: Stunning AMOLED display, decent camera setup, customizable Aura Light system, excellent battery life
  • Cons: Not ideal for heavy media processing
