Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to DK Shivakumar following his swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday. In a post on X, Modi expressed best wishes for Shivakumar’s tenure and reaffirmed that the Centre would collaborate closely with the Karnataka government for the benefit of the people.
“Congratulations to Shri DK Shivakumar for taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Best wishes for his tenure. The Centre will work closely with the Karnataka government for the welfare of the people,” Modi stated.
Shivakumar was sworn in as the 34th chief minister of Karnataka during a ceremony at Lok Bhavan, marking a significant moment in the state’s leadership. Alongside him, senior Congress leader G Parameshwara took the oath of office as deputy chief minister.
During the ceremony, Shivakumar held a copy of the Constitution of India, emphasizing the occasion’s significance. The event attracted a substantial audience, including senior Congress leaders, religious figures, and dignitaries from across the country. Notable attendees included Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Congress general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal, underscoring the party’s support for the new government in Karnataka.
