RCB Cancels Victory Parade Plans After IPL Title Win: A Message to Fans

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emphasized their dominance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) following their recent victory against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB secured a five-wicket win, successfully chasing down a target of 155 on what became a memorable Sunday night.

The Bengaluru franchise, having topped the group stage, established themselves as formidable contenders throughout the season. They showcased their prowess by defeating GT in Qualifier 1 with a formidable score of 254/5, followed by another strong performance in the finals, significantly bolstered by their bowling unit.

Emotions ran high as tears of joy were shed and celebrations erupted among players and staff alike, who expressed their gratitude to fans for their dedicated support throughout the season.

In a statement released via social media, RCB urged fans to celebrate responsibly from home. This cautious approach comes in light of last year’s tragic incident, where 11 people died in a stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium after RCB’s IPL 2025 win. The franchise wrote, “What a night. What a feeling. To every member of the RCB nation, congratulations. This is YOUR win. As the celebrations begin, let’s be responsible. The best way to celebrate is with your loved ones. Relive the memories and enjoy this special moment from the comfort of home. We’ll see you in the stadium next year, 12th Man Army. Until then, spread the joy and keep supporting us.”

However, celebrations turned tumultuous in Andhra Pradesh, the bordering state to Karnataka. Following RCB’s victory, large gatherings of fans filled the streets with flags and banners. The atmosphere quickly escalated into chaos when groups began blocking traffic near the Raju Vihar Centre, leading to significant disruptions and panic among drivers.

The situation deteriorated further when some individuals vandalized a private bus parked along the roadside, throwing stones and shattering its windows, causing extensive damage and leaving passengers frightened in the aftermath of the violence.
