A contingent of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been deployed at the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) located in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan, to provide counter-terrorism protection.
A spokesperson for the CISF reported that a 200-member team, commanded by an officer of the rank of deputy commandant, officially assumed their roles at the facility after a ceremony held on Thursday. The NFC Kota was established by the Hyderabad-based NFC to satisfy the fuel demands of forthcoming nuclear reactors. This facility operates as a unit of the Department of Atomic Energy and is situated adjacent to the heavy water plant in Kota.
“The induction of CISF personnel at NFC Kota reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the security of critical infrastructure, ensuring the continuous availability of essential fuels for the nation,” the spokesperson stated.
NFC Kota marks the 18th critical government asset to come under the protective framework of the CISF.
