SEBI has decided to extend the suspension of derivatives trading in seven agricultural commodities—paddy (non-basmati), wheat, chana, mustard seeds (including its complex), soybean (including its complex), crude palm oil, and moong—until March 31, 2026. The decision comes after the initial directive on December 19, 2021, which suspended trading in derivative contracts for these commodities until December 20, 2022. Following three previous extensions, the latest one was set until March 31, 2025. However, SEBI has now decided to further extend the suspension until March 31, 2026. This move aims to regulate the market dynamics and ensure stability in the trading of these agricultural commodities.
