BJP MP Declares PM Modi as Chhatrapati Shivaji’s Reincarnation; Opposition Slams ‘Shameless Sycophants’

Pradeep Purohit, a Member of Parliament from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), has asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in a past life.

During his speech in Parliament on March 17, Purohit recounted an encounter with a sage who informed him that PM Modi is, in fact, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj reincarnated.

The MP representing Bargarh in Assam claimed, “PM Modi is truly Shivaji Maharaj, reincarnated to guide our nation towards becoming the most developed in the world.”

The second phase of the Parliament’s Budget session, which commenced on March 10, is scheduled to continue until April 4.

Shivaji was a prominent Indian ruler belonging to the Bhonsle clan. He established his own independent kingdom from the Sultanate of Bijapur, laying the foundation for what would later become his realm. He was crowned Chhatrapati at Raigad Fort in 1674.

Purohit’s statements emerged amid controversy surrounding Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb, which sparked violence in Nagpur. Riots broke out on the night of March 17, leading to curfews in various parts of the city after a demonstration against Aurangzeb’s tomb escalated, resulting in the destruction of properties, according to officials on March 18.

Purohit’s comments were met with backlash from Congress leaders and social media users, who condemned his remarks as disrespectful to the legacy and stature of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. A Congress leader stated that Purohit disrespected Shivaji Maharaj by equating him with Prime Minister Modi.

Deliberate Conspiracy

“A calculated conspiracy is being orchestrated by the BJP leaders to perpetually insult the revered deity of a united India and the champion of the common people, thereby tarnishing the reputation of Shivaji devotees in Maharashtra and globally,” she remarked. Varsha is the Congress MP representing Mumbai North Central.

PM Modi is indeed Shivaji Maharaj, reincarnated to lead India towards becoming the world’s most advanced nation.

These unprincipled sycophants of the BJP require oversight.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), also voiced her opinion on social media, stating, “These unprincipled sycophants of the BJP need to be held accountable. This comparison between PM Modi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is wholly intolerable.”
