NTPC and EDF India have collaborated to establish pumped hydro storage and other hydro projects combined with renewable energy projects, as well as to explore opportunities in the distribution business. They have signed a non-binding term sheet to develop, own, operate, and maintain pumped storage projects and other hydro-power projects, with plans to form a joint venture with a 50:50 partnership after receiving the necessary approvals.

Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd has been awarded a ₹102-crore contract to provide steel works in Maharashtra by Venkatesh Infra Projects. The project is expected to be completed in six months.

Schneider Electric has announced the opening of three new manufacturing plants in India. The company plans to make regular investments in India and currently operates 31 manufacturing plants in the country. The new plants will be located in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar.

Vedanta Ltd has emerged as the preferred bidder for a diamond mine in Madhya Pradesh with a final price offer of 1.10 per cent. The company has been declared the ‘Preferred Bidder’ for the Kauhari Diamond Block, which is at the G4 level of exploration.

The Bharti Airtel board has approved raising the stake in Airtel Africa by up to 5 per cent, while the Bajaj Auto board has approved an investment of up to Euro 150 million in its subsidiary in the Netherlands.

The USFDA has issued a warning letter to Jagsonpal Pharmaceuticals for significant manufacturing lapses at its Rajasthan-based active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) plant.
