The combined market valuation of six of the top 10 most valued firms increased by ₹74,111.57 crore last week, with Reliance Industries being the largest gainer. During the same period, the BSE benchmark index rose by 177.36 points, or 0.23 percent.

“Markets ended the week with marginal gains amid a highly volatile and range-bound trading environment. Benchmark indices experienced sharp intraday fluctuations throughout the week, influenced by persistent rupee weakness, mixed global cues, sectoral rotation, and ongoing uncertainty about inflation and interest rates,” stated Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President of Research at Religare Broking Ltd.

Among the top 10 firms, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) saw increases, while HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, and Hindustan Unilever recorded decreases in their valuations.

Reliance Industries contributed ₹24,696.89 crore to its market valuation, raising it to ₹18,33,117.70 crore. TCS’s valuation grew by ₹19,338.68 crore to ₹8,38,401.33 crore, and ICICI Bank’s market cap increased by ₹14,515.93 crore to ₹9,06,901.32 crore. Bajaj Finance saw a slight increase in market capitalization of ₹3,797.83 crore, bringing it to ₹5,70,515.57 crore, while Larsen & Toubro’s valuation rose by ₹2,685.87 crore to ₹5,40,228.21 crore.

Conversely, Bharti Airtel’s market valuation fell by ₹20,229.67 crore to ₹11,40,295.49 crore. Hindustan Unilever experienced a decrease of ₹16,212.18 crore, leading to a market cap of ₹5,17,380 crore, while State Bank of India’s market cap declined by ₹12,784.4 crore to ₹8,76,077.92 crore. HDFC Bank’s valuation decreased by ₹2,094.35 crore to ₹11,79,974.90 crore.
