TIRUCHI, October 17, 2011: Nesamani, a 94-year-old woman, displayed the indelible ink mark on her finger after casting her vote during the local body elections in Kattur, Tiruchi.

CHENNAI, October 17, 2011: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa had her index finger marked with indelible ink just before she voted in the Chennai Corporation elections.

TIRUCHI, October 17, 2011: A polling official applied indelible ink to the finger of Collector Jayashree Muralidharan before she cast her vote at a polling booth in Tiruchi.

TUTICORIN, October 17, 2011: A long queue of female voters was observed at Threspuram in Tuticorin, which was classified as a sensitive polling booth.

The voting process across these locations highlighted the active participation of citizens in the democratic process. The elections were conducted amidst a significant turnout, emphasizing the importance of local governance.
