Mahindra is reportedly preparing to launch the highly anticipated XUV 3XO EV, a sub-compact electric SUV that aims to bolster its presence in the expanding EV market. Recent spy shots and insider reports indicate that the XUV 3XO EV is currently undergoing road tests, providing a sneak peek into its design and potential features.

A Key Addition to Mahindra’s EV Portfolio

The XUV 3XO EV is poised to be an essential component of Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup, following the recent launches of the XEV 9e and BE 6. This model is expected to serve as the electric counterpart to the internal combustion engine version of the XUV 3XO, which is an updated iteration of the XUV 300. This electric SUV aims to attract environmentally conscious consumers who desire a stylish and high-performance option in the electric vehicle segment.

Design Features of the Upcoming SUV EV

While the XUV 3XO EV is expected to maintain many design elements from its ICE counterpart, several updates specific to electric vehicles are anticipated:

  • Closed Front Panel: The conventional grille will be replaced with a sleek, closed panel, highlighting its electric nature.
  • Redesigned Air Dam and Tailgate: A revamped rear bumper and tailgate, featuring rose gold accents, will provide a modern touch.
  • Enhanced Alloy Wheels: The introduction of aero inserts in the alloy wheels is likely to improve efficiency while enhancing the overall appearance.
  • Charging Port Location: Expect the charging port to be situated on the left front fender.

Battery and Range Expectations

Reports indicate that the XUV 3XO EV may utilize the battery options from the Mahindra XUV 400, including:

  • 34.5 kWh Battery: Anticipated to offer a range of up to 375 km on a single charge.
  • 39.4 kWh Battery: Expected to provide a range of up to 456 km on a single charge.

It remains unclear if Mahindra will introduce enhancements to the powertrain for this model.
