The India-bound LPG tanker MV Sunshine has successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz, receiving assistance from various Indian agencies, including the Indian Navy, amid escalating tensions in West Asia, according to sources. This marks the 15th LPG ship evacuated from the Persian Gulf safely heading toward India.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, stated that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz would improve with the establishment of peace. He emphasized that there would be transparency and adherence to international law, suggesting that peace would enhance safety and security in the region. Gharibabadi remarked, “The Strait of Hormuz situation will be better than before once peace is established.”
Furthering diplomatic relations, Gharibabadi expressed that Iran welcomes initiatives from India to help reduce tensions in West Asia. He praised New Delhi’s impartial approach in the lead-up to the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting and noted the cultural ties between India and Iran. He stated, “Both countries are proud of their culture. There are many commonalities, and we attach great importance to people-to-people contacts between India and Iran.”
Gharibabadi conveyed that any diplomatic efforts from India aimed at fostering peace would be appreciated by Tehran.
