New Delhi: The Delhi Capitals achieved a notable seven-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals during the 43rd match of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2026, held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 1.
A significant moment during the match involved Kyle Jamieson, who attracted attention after dismissing 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi early in the game. Jamieson’s exuberant celebration sparked controversy and subsequently went viral on social media.
The pacer has been found in violation of the IPL Code of Conduct, resulting in the accumulation of one demerit point for unsportsmanlike behavior. According to the official statement, Jamieson breached Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to “using language, actions, or gestures that disparage or provoke an aggressive response from another player in the match.” The statement read, “Kyle Jamieson, Bowler, Delhi Capitals, has accumulated one demerit point and received a warning for breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during Match No. 43 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.”
In terms of match performance, the Rajasthan Royals batted first and set a competitive target of 225 runs, bolstered by substantial contributions from Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, and Donovan Ferreira. However, the stellar performance from KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka led the Delhi Capitals to a decisive victory, ultimately causing a significant defeat for the Rajasthan Royals.
