Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory, a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL), has landed a ₹255 crore deal with Braithwait & Co. for 9,140 railway wheelsets, as per a company announcement on Thursday.

At 10.05 am today, shares of Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL) were trading on the NSE at ₹301.90, down by ₹5.90 or 1.92 per cent.

This contract, for 840 mm diameter wheelsets tailored for 25-ton axle load applications, has bolstered the company’s total order book to ₹560 crore.

JWL is in the process of setting up a new manufacturing facility in Odisha, which will ramp up its annual production capacity from 20,000 to 100,000 forged wheelsets. This ₹2,500 crore expansion initiative is aimed at reducing India’s reliance on imported railway components.

The timeline for the new facility indicates that axle production will commence by December 2026, with full wheel and axle production operational by December 2027.

Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons Limited, expressed, “This order is a testament to the manufacturing excellence of Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory.”

The company has set a revenue target of ₹600 crore from its wheel business for the fiscal year 2026, nearly doubling its current contribution.

Furthermore, Jupiter Electric Mobility, the commercial EV division of JWL, is gearing up to unveil its JEM TEZ vehicle on March 3 in Indore, marking the company’s foray into sustainable transportation solutions.
