New Delhi:

Jio has expanded its portfolio beyond telecommunications by entering the electric vehicle sector with its latest product, the JioEV Aries 7.4kW Pro Smart EV Charger. Designed for residential and commercial use, this smart charger offers advanced features such as robust connectivity, remote monitoring, and a strong emphasis on safety. Jio is positioning this charger as a response to the rapidly growing electric vehicle market in India.

Broad compatibility with leading electric cars

The new charger supports single-phase AC charging, delivering a maximum output of 32A. It is compatible with many of India’s leading electric vehicles, including the Tata Nexon EV, Tiago EV, Punch EV, Mahindra XUV400, Hyundai Kona Electric, Ioniq, Kia EV6, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 and e6, as well as the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Its design allows for installation in various environments, from homes to offices and commercial spaces, with multiple connector options available.

Smart features for complete remote control

A standout feature of the JioEV charger is its connectivity options. It is equipped with 4G, Wi-Fi, and LAN capabilities, along with RFID card authentication for enhanced security. This technology integrates with the Jio TruePower app, enabling electric vehicle owners to monitor charging status, initiate or halt the charging process, and manage their charging experience directly from their smartphones. RFID cards ensure that only authorized users can access the charger.

Built-in safety and system compatibility

Safety is a core priority for Jio in developing this charger. It adheres to the OCPP 1.6J protocol, allowing integration with central charging management systems. Additionally, the charger holds an IP65 certification, providing protection against dust and splashes, and making it suitable for outdoor installation. This design consideration ensures reliable and consistent charging performance, even in adverse weather conditions.

What you get and how much it will cost

The JioEV Aries 7.4kW Pro Smart EV Charger package includes a 5-meter cable, installation hardware, and a one-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Price tag: Rs 24,999.

Consumers can purchase it directly from Jio’s website or from popular online retailers, including Amazon.

With a focus on ease of use, reliability, and compatibility with a range of electric vehicle models, Jio’s new charger aims to simplify the transition to electric mobility in India.
