HCC-TPL Joint Venture Bags ₹2,191 Crore Contract for Indore Metro Project

Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) and Tata Projects Limited (TPL) have successfully secured a contract worth ₹2,191 crore for the construction of an underground corridor spanning 8.65 km for the Indore Metro Rail project. The regulatory filing on March 17, 2025 confirmed the news, with HCC holding a 55% stake in the joint venture, equivalent to around ₹1,205 crore.

As per the latest updates, the shares of Hindustan Construction Company Limited were trading at ₹23.12, reflecting a 2.21% increase on the NSE at 12.05 pm.

The contract, known as Package IN-05R, is specifically dedicated to the underground section of the Indore Metro Phase 1 project, covering a total length of 31.32 km. The project scope includes the construction of 11.32 km of tunnel using tunnel boring machines (TBM) and the development of seven underground stations, namely Indore Railway Station, Rajwada, Chota Ganpati, Bada Ganpati, Ramchandra Nagar, BSF/Kalani Nagar, and Airport.

This underground corridor will link a ramp east of Indore Railway Station to a ramp west of Airport Station, serving as a critical component of the transportation infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh’s largest city.

Drawing from its extensive experience in metro construction, HCC has previously worked on prominent projects like Mumbai Metro Line III, Chennai Metro, Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro, Mumbai Metro Line I, and Kolkata Metro. Over its nearly 100-year history, the company has also contributed significantly to the development of over 4,036 lane km of highways and 403 bridges.

The HCC-TPL joint venture’s successful bid for the Indore Metro project underscores their expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions in the region.
