India’s Landmark Tour of New Zealand: Complete Fixture Schedule Revealed

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has unveiled its international home schedule for the summer, prominently featuring a comprehensive series against India that will see the teams compete across all formats. In what is set to be New Zealand’s most extensive home series to date, India will participate in 12 matches, consisting of two Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs), and five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), spanning from October to early December.

The tour is slated to commence with a five-match T20I series starting on October 22 in Christchurch, with matches scheduled for October 24, 27, 30, and November 1. The ODI series will kick off on November 4, with subsequent matches on November 7, 10, 13, and 15. Two Test matches will follow, commencing from November 19-23 and continuing from November 27 to December 1.

NZC is particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to host star players such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. Glenn Critchley, NZC’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, emphasized the significance of this tour: “When it comes to cricket, it simply doesn’t get bigger than India, and we’re determined to deliver New Zealanders a tour like no other.”

Critchley noted that this series will transcend cricket, representing a celebration of the shared history and culture between New Zealand and India, as well as the growing rivalry and friendship fostered through the sport. He added, “Experiencing the noise, colour and atmosphere of an Indian cricket international is a bucket-list event,” and encouraged the New Zealand public to witness the series in person.

The complete fixtures for the tour are as follows:

  • 1st T20I: October 22, Christchurch
  • 2nd T20I: October 24, Christchurch
  • 3rd T20I: October 27, Wellington
  • 4th T20I: October 30, Auckland
  • 5th T20I: November 1, Hamilton
  • 1st ODI: November 4, Auckland
  • 2nd ODI: November 7, Wellington
  • 3rd ODI: November 10, Hamilton
  • 4th ODI: November 13, Mount Maunganui
  • 5th ODI: November 15, Mount Maunganui
  • 1st Test: November 19-23, Wellington
  • 2nd Test: November 27-December 1, Christchurch

This tour is expected to be a significant event in the international cricket calendar, drawing considerable attention from fans and media alike.
