India and New Zealand Women are all set to battle it out in a three-match ODI series beginning on October 24. Both teams have their sights set on the upcoming World Cup, and will be aiming to put up impressive performances in this series. However, the timing of this series leaves much to be desired.

The White Ferns clinched their first T20 World Cup title on November 20, and within just two days, they had to fly to India for the ODI series. Despite stepping down from T20I captaincy post the final, Sophie Devine continues to lead the ODI squad. New Zealand will be looking to capitalize on their recent success and carry forward the winning momentum.

On the other hand, India’s T20 World Cup journey was cut short in the group stage after a defeat to New Zealand in their opening match. The Indian team, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, will be eager to prove themselves in the ODI format and bounce back from the disappointment of the T20 World Cup.

In head-to-head ODI encounters, New Zealand has historically dominated India with 32 victories out of 53 matches played. India, on the other hand, has emerged victorious in 20 matches, with one ending in a tie.

The three-match ODI series schedule is as follows:

1st ODI – October 24 at 1:30 PM IST 2nd ODI – October 27 at 1:30 PM IST 3rd ODI – October 29 at 1:30 PM IST

All the matches will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The squads for the series are as follows:

India – Smriti Mandhana, Dayalan Hemalatha, Jemimah Rodrigues, Tejal Hasabnis, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Saima Thakor, Sayali Satghare, Shreyanka Patil, Yastika Bhatia, Uma Chetry, Radha Yadav, Renuka Thakur, Arundhati Reddy, Priya Mishra

New Zealand – Lauren Down, Maddy Green, Sophie Devine (C), Suzie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Brooke Halliday, Amelia Kerr, Isabelle Gaze, Polly Inglis, Molly Penfold, Hannah Rowe, Lea Tahuhu, Fran Jonas, Jess Kerr

For those looking to catch the action live, the India vs New Zealand Women’s ODI series will be broadcasted on Sports 18. Additionally, the matches can be streamed live on Jio Cinema.
