Hezbollah rockets strike northern Israel as drone hits Netanyahu’s home

A drone reportedly struck Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vacation home in northern Israel, causing air raid sirens to sound across the country, including in Tel Aviv.

Fortunately, Netanyahu was not in the area at the time of the attack, and there were no reported casualties. Two other drones launched from Lebanon were intercepted by the Israeli military, but over 100 rockets were fired across northern Israel, resulting in at least 13 injuries.

Tensions between Iran-aligned Hezbollah and Israel have been escalating since last October.

Israeli authorities are treating the drone strike on Netanyahu’s residence as a possible assassination attempt, although this has not been confirmed. The incident has raised security concerns in Israel as the drone managed to reach its target undetected.

The attack on Netanyahu’s house was reportedly carried out using a diversion of rocket fire from Lebanon. Sirens blared across northern Israel, including in Galilee and Haifa, following the drone strike.

Haifa, as the largest city in northern Israel and a strategic port, was on high alert during the incident. The city is home to a significant population and houses the country’s naval headquarters.

The successful drone attack on the Prime Minister’s residence has caused alarm within the Israeli security establishment, highlighting vulnerabilities in their defense systems.

The situation remains tense as Israel assesses the threat posed by such attacks and works to prevent future incidents.
