Indian batting sensation Rishabh Pant has been making waves in Test cricket with his outstanding performances. After scoring a century against Bangladesh, Pant has now smashed an unbeaten fifty in the ongoing India vs New Zealand 1st Test match in Bengaluru. Notably, Pant has also achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev in the list of players with the most sixes in Test cricket.

Known for his explosive hitting, Pant surpassed Kapil Dev’s tally of 61 sixes by hitting two maximums off left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel. With this feat, Pant now stands as the sixth-highest Indian six-hitter in Test cricket, with a total of 63 sixes in just 62 innings.

The current list of Indian players with the most sixes in Test cricket includes the likes of Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Ravindra Jadeja at the top. Pant’s aggressive batting style has certainly added a new dimension to India’s Test team.

In the ongoing match, India faced a daunting first-innings deficit of 356 runs after being bowled out for 46. However, they displayed resilience in the second innings, with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal providing a solid start. Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan further steadied the ship with a partnership of 136 runs for the third wicket. Sarfaraz went on to score his maiden Test century, while Pant continued his aggressive approach to help India set a competitive target for New Zealand.

The match is finely poised, with both teams putting up strong performances. Pant’s six-hitting prowess has once again been on display, showcasing his ability to change the course of a game with his explosive batting. As the match progresses, all eyes will be on Pant to see if he can lead India to a memorable victory against New Zealand.
