Genesys International Corporation Limited has secured a contract from the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), part of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, to undertake an aerial LiDAR survey and geotagged videography of the drainage system along the River Ganga. The Mumbai-based geospatial firm announced the project on May 14, 2026.

The project encompasses the Ballia-to-Farakka stretch of the Ganga, involving regions from Uttar Pradesh through Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. To gather geospatial data along the river corridor and its associated drainage systems, Genesys will utilize a mix of manned aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Among the deliverables are 3D LiDAR point clouds, orthorectified imagery, photogrammetric data, and geotagged aerial videos of both natural and artificial drains tributary to the river. The completed dataset aims to assist in drainage mapping, identifying pollution hotspots, analyzing floodplains, and planning for wastewater interception in river basin management.

Sajid Malik, Chairman and Managing Director of Genesys, emphasized the project’s capacity to integrate manned aerial systems with drone technology, producing “river intelligence at scale.” Malik noted the expanding geospatial vertical as a critical area with applications across India’s river systems.

This contract expands Genesys International’s portfolio of governmental geospatial projects, which includes initiatives focusing on digital twin technology and 3D city modeling. As of May 15, 2026, the company’s stock price closed at ₹208.80 on the NSE, reflecting a decrease of 2.61 percent for the day, yielding a total market capitalization of approximately ₹872 crore. Since the beginning of the year, the stock has seen a decline of over 50 percent and is down roughly 70 percent from its 52-week peak of ₹757.50, recorded in May 2025.

The publication date for this announcement is May 15, 2026.
