New Delhi: Following the immense success of Amar Singh Chamkila, director Imtiaz Ali and actor Diljit Dosanjh are collaborating again for the partition love story Main Vaapas Aaunga. The film, which also features Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh, and Vendat Raina, is set to release in June. Anticipation for the movie has been heightened by the release of teasers and three songs, with the latest, titled “Vo Nahin.”
While the song has been positively received, a specific still from it has caught the audience’s attention, revealing that actor Danish Pandor, known for his role in Dhurandhar, will also make an appearance in Main Vaapas Aaunga.
At 2:31 in the song “Vo Nahin,” Danish Pandor, who portrayed Uzair Baloch, can be seen in a sequence of the film.
For context, Danish’s character in Dhurandhar is the younger brother of Akshaye Khanna’s Rehman Dakait. Although he had a significant presence in the first film, his role in Dhurandhar: The Revenge is marked by manipulation from Hamza Ali Mazari, played by Ranveer Singh. Despite having limited screen time in the latter film, Danish’s impact was notable, and it will be intriguing to see what character he embodies in the upcoming romantic drama.
Main Vaapas Aaunga is co-written and directed by Imtiaz Ali, alongside Nayanika Mahtani. It is produced by Mohit Choudhary, Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, and Shibasish Sarkar, under Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films. The film’s music is crafted by AR Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil, and cinematography is handled by Sylvester Fonseca. Casting has been managed by Mukesh Chhabra. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.
