New Delhi: The year 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting time for Bollywood, particularly in the romantic genre, with several new on-screen pairings making their debut. Among the films generating significant buzz is “Ginny Wedss Sunny 2,” starring Avinash Tiwary, known for “Laila Majnu,” alongside Medha Shankr from “12th Fail.” This romantic comedy is set to premiere in theaters on April 24, 2026.

Earlier this year, audiences witnessed a fresh pairing with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the gangster drama “O’Romeo.” Below is a look at six highly anticipated pairings that are either currently on screen or will soon debut.

6 Anticipated Fresh Pairings of 2026

1. Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr
Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr will star in “Ginny Wedss Sunny 2,” directed by Prasshant Jha. The film, which will be released on April 24, 2026, also features actors Lillete Dubey, Sudhir Pandey, Govind Namdev, Gopi Bhalla, Nayani Dixit, Vishwanath Chatterjee, and Rohit Chaudhary in supporting roles.

2. Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri
Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri made their on-screen debut together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film “O’Romeo,” which includes notable actors such as Farida Jalal, Nana Patekar, and Avinash Tiwary. The film is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.

3. Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi
Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi co-starred in the romantic drama “Do Deewane Seher Mein,” directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film was released on February 20, 2026, and is now streaming on Netflix.

4. Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor
Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor will appear together for the first time in the Telugu action-sports drama “Peddi,” directed by Buchi Babu Sana. Initially slated for release on April 30, 2026, the film’s premiere has been postponed to June.

5. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi
Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are set to portray iconic roles as Lord Rama and Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana film series. The project will consist of two parts, with Part 1 scheduled for release during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 slated for Diwali 2027.

6. Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela
Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela will collaborate in an upcoming romantic musical directed by Anurag Basu. The film’s first look was released in February 2025, but the title and release date have yet to be announced.
