Bharti Airtel was the only stock in the green, edging up marginally by 0.19 per cent to close at ₹1,696.00, making it the top gainer on the BSE Sensex.

Meanwhile, Zomato led the decline among the top losers, plummeting 5.24 per cent to ₹215.25. Tata Steel also experienced a significant drop, with its shares falling 2.91 per cent to end at ₹130.10.

Other notable losers included Bajaj Finserv, which saw a 2.70 per cent decrease to close at ₹1,744.50, Power Grid Corporation slipping 2.68 per cent to ₹261.50, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) declining by 2.65 per cent to finish at ₹3,240.25.

The overall market witnessed its most significant single-day decline in three weeks, with both indices touching their intraday lows due to widespread selling pressure across various sectors. Amid fears of retaliatory tariffs by former US President Donald Trump, most heavyweights saw heavy losses, except for Bharti Airtel, which managed to emerge as the sole gainer on the BSE Sensex.
