The P Brahmayya Incubation Centre for Knowledge has been established in Chennai by the Andhra Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in collaboration with the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) at Anna University and StartupTN, Tamil Nadu’s entrepreneurship nodal agency. This initiative aims to provide support and mentorship to the next-generation entrepreneurs.

The newly inaugurated centre, located within the ACC premises, includes a 10-12 seater incubation space and a library. The goal is to offer early-stage entrepreneurs access to infrastructure support, mentorship from ACC’s experts, and guidance on entering the market. In the future, the ACC plans to collaborate with StartupTN and TN Rise to identify entrepreneurs who can benefit from the resources and mentorship available at the centre.

Named after P Brahmayya, a prominent chartered accountant and former President of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and ACC, the centre aims to empower entrepreneurs with knowledge and expertise. V L Indira Dutt, President of ACC, highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to providing sector-specific knowledge and advisory support through its various sub-committees. Additionally, the Chamber will assist in marketing the products of start-ups and early-stage entrepreneurs through its extensive network.

P S Kumar, son of P Brahmayya and a chartered accountant and past President of ACC, led the establishment of the centre and serves as one of its sponsors. He emphasized the value of the library in providing entrepreneurs with research materials and publications. Plans are also underway to introduce an e-library for wider access and reach.

Founded in 1928, the ACC represents members primarily from the MSME sector, with a membership of over 1300, including multinational conglomerates. The Chamber is focused on offering value-added services to promote entrepreneurship and support the start-up community.

The event marking the launch of the incubation centre saw the participation of representatives from StartupTN, TN Rise, and other key ACC members. The collaborative effort between ACC, AIC, and StartupTN aims to create a conducive ecosystem for nurturing and guiding aspiring entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu.
