Two promoter entities of Alkem Laboratories divested a 1.5% stake in the pharmaceutical company for ₹930 crore through open market transactions on Tuesday. The block deal data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) indicated that a total of 1,788,220 shares, representing a 1.49% stake, were sold by Jayanti Sinha and the Samprada & Nanhamati Singh Family Trust.
The shares were sold at an average price of ₹5,200 each, bringing the total transaction value to ₹929.87 crore. Following the sale, Jayanti Sinha, who was part of the promoter group, exited the firm, resulting in the promoter holding dipping to 49.71% from 51.20%.
The shares were acquired by several prominent buyers, including ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, Edelweiss Mutual Fund, Nippon India Mutual Fund, DSP Mutual Fund, as well as global institutional investors such as BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs.
At the close of trading, shares of Alkem Laboratories experienced a decline of 1.42%, settling at ₹5,239 on the NSE.
