New Delhi: In Game 38 of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Lucknow Super Giants faced off against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 26. Both teams have experienced a tumultuous season, and the excitement continued as the match went into a super over.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batted first and set a total of 155 runs. In response, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) matched that score, leading to the super over. However, in the super over, LSG could only manage to score one run, which KKR easily chased down to clinch the victory.
After the match, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane expressed his relief and satisfaction with the team’s performance. “Settled. Really happy with the victory, especially the way we played after those 16 overs when we were batting. Rinku’s innings turned everything. Initially, we were thinking a lot about what was happening, but credit goes to Rinku Singh. His amazing knock in the last over and the momentum it brought us was fantastic,” Rahane remarked during the post-match presentation.
Kolkata Knight Riders are scheduled to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match on May 3 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. As the 45th game of the tournament approaches, both teams are looking to put in a strong performance. Notably, Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently in good form, positioned within the top four, while KKR hopes to improve their standings in the league.
