New Delhi: Praful Hinge showcased his skills by claiming four wickets in his IPL debut, effectively dismantling the Rajasthan Royals’ middle order. He took the wickets of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, Lhuan-dre Pretorious, and Riyan Parag, contributing to a significant 57-run victory for Hyderabad. This performance was complemented by a similar four-wicket haul from Sakib Hussain.
Following the match, Hinge was seen conversing with former cricketer Ian Bishop. Hinge recounted that Bishop inquired about his journey to the IPL, including the injury setback he faced in 2022 that sidelined him for six to seven months.
“During that time, I had a stress fracture and was uncertain about what to do. I was completely blank. My main focus was to enjoy my time when not playing,” Hinge explained during the JioStar Press Room. He added that conversations with Varun Aaron, who experienced multiple stress fractures in his career, encouraged him to embrace the downtime and not obsess over his situation.
After his impressive debut, Hinge encountered challenges in his second match against the Chennai Super Kings, leading to his exclusion from the lineup for the upcoming game against the Delhi Capitals. His participation in the next match against the Rajasthan Royals on April 29 remains uncertain, as fans anticipate his return. The game will be broadcast on Star Sports Network and JioStar.
