BJP Dominates Recent Bipolar Contests in Karnataka, Showcasing Strong Electoral Performance

In the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, an impressive 77% of the constituencies experienced bipolar contests, indicating that only two parties were primarily competing in those areas. This represented a significant change compared to the 2013 and 2008 elections, where fewer than 50% of the seats featured such contests. Furthermore, the prevalence of multi-cornered battles involving more than three parties has significantly declined, highlighting a trend towards simpler electoral dynamics in the state.
