Worldwide protests have erupted in response to Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. Demonstrators across Europe, Australia, and South America are calling for stronger sanctions against Israel following the blockade of 41 ships, which included approximately 400 individuals, such as climate activist Greta Thunberg and notable politicians. In Barcelona, around 15,000 marchers rallied, chanting slogans like “Gaza, you are not alone” and “Boycott Israel,” while in Dublin, several hundred protesters gathered outside the Irish parliament. Major demonstrations also took place in Rome, where approximately 10,000 participants voiced their support for the flotilla, and in various cities including Berlin, The Hague, and Istanbul. As protests unfolded, tensions escalated, with reports of riot police clashing with demonstrators in Spain and arrests in Marseille. The unrest reflects growing global solidarity with Palestine amid ongoing humanitarian concerns in Gaza.
