Nagpur: The Irani Cup Match Begins Today

The esteemed Irani Cup is set to commence today, featuring the Ranji Trophy champions from the previous season, Vidarbha, going up against the Rest of India team, comprised of the top players from the domestic circuit. The match will take place at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

Akshay Wadkar, once again at the helm for Vidarbha, aims to solidify his team’s position as the best in the nation. The squad includes players like Yash Rathod and Danish Malewar, who have shown promise in domestic competitions. Rathod notably caught attention with his recent batting performance in the Duleep Trophy.

On the other side, the Rest of India team will be captained by Rajat Patidar. Patidar’s reputation as a captain has been bolstered by his recent success winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The team features a wealth of talent, including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ishan Kishan, Anshul Kamboj, and Akash Deep.

The Irani Cup match between Vidarbha and Rest of India is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM IST, continuing until at least 4:30 PM, with the potential to extend until 5 PM IST. Fans can watch the match live on Star Sports, while streaming will be available on JioHotstar for free within India.
