Samsung Galaxy S25 is a compact flagship that has garnered a loyal consumer base. Despite the trend of larger screens, there is still a demand for lightweight and compact smartphones for daily use. I have been using the Samsung Galaxy S25 for a few weeks now, and here is my detailed review of whether this flagship device is worth investing in.

Design: The design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 is similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24, with a compact size of 6.2 inches and a three-lens camera module at the rear. However, this year, the smartphone comes in new, vibrant colors like Coralred, Pinkgold, and Mint. The AMOLED display is bright and vibrant, with visuals appearing vivid on the screen. The adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate makes browsing and video streaming seamless, and the smartphone offers HDR support for content on platforms like YouTube and Netflix.

Camera: The camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy S25 includes a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 10 MP telephoto lens. Daylight pictures are vibrant and well-saturated, with a slight preference for warm tones. The front camera, with a 12 MP sensor, captures pleasing selfies with accurate skin tones and textures. In-camera adjustments have been improved, allowing users to zoom in and out while composing frames or shooting videos.

New Features: The Samsung Galaxy S25 introduces new features like the ‘Now’ briefing bar, AI Summary, transcribing recorded calls, and improved ‘Circle to Search’ functions. The notification system has been revamped to mimic the iOS-style split view, making it easier to check notifications and access quick settings. The smartphone runs on the new One UI 7 and Android 15, offering a seamless user experience.

Tech Specs: Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset customised for the Galaxy S25 series, the smartphone offers snappy performance for multitasking, gaming, and other functions. The review unit comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, with a 512 GB option also available. The device retains a 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging support, providing a day’s worth of juice for moderate usage.

Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy S25 excels in its compact form factor, sharp display, reliable camera setup, and new AI-driven enhancements. The promise of seven years of software and security updates adds long-term value to the device. However, the lack of significant camera upgrades, battery improvements, or new design elements may leave some users wanting more. Overall, if you are looking for a stylish, pocketable flagship with premium features, the Samsung Galaxy S25 still proves to be a solid choice.

Snapshot:

  • Price: ₹80,999 (256 GB)
  • Pros: Compact and lightweight design, reliable camera performance, new AI features, powerful chipset
  • Cons: Average battery life, lack of significant camera or battery upgrades
