POCO has once again made a splash in the mid-range smartphone market with the launch of the POCO X7 Pro earlier this year. Priced competitively, this phone boasts premium features that set it apart from the competition. Here’s a rundown of what makes the POCO X7 Pro a standout device, along with a few areas where it falls short.

Build

The POCO X7 Pro sports a polycarbonate body that strikes a good balance between durability and comfort, weighing in at around 198 grams. Its flat screen and rounded edges offer a comfortable grip, making it easy to handle. The Nebula Green variant stands out with its unique color and smooth matte finish.

Display

Featuring a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display, the POCO X7 Pro delivers vibrant and accurate colors that enhance the viewing experience. Whether you’re watching your favorite shows or movies, the display performs admirably, capturing both vivid day scenes and nuanced night scenes with precision.

Performance

Powered by the Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor, the POCO X7 Pro offers robust performance. With 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, this phone can handle demanding tasks with ease. Benchmark tests place it in the league of flagship devices, and gaming on the device is smooth thanks to features like LiquidCool Technology 4.0 and the POCO 3D IceLoop system.

Camera

The POCO X7 Pro boasts a 50 MP main camera with OIS and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. While it excels in capturing well-lit outdoor shots, indoor and mixed lighting scenarios can be a bit challenging for the camera. The front camera delivers decent selfie shots, though there are some inconsistencies in edge detection and sharpness.

Battery

Equipped with a 6,550 mAh battery, the POCO X7 Pro offers impressive battery life, lasting up to two days on moderate usage. The device also supports fast charging, with the 90W HyperCharge USB-C charger juicing up the phone in about 40 minutes.

Verdict

Priced at ₹27,999, the POCO X7 Pro delivers near-flagship performance at a mid-range price point. Its bright AMOLED display, strong performance, and long battery life make it a compelling choice. However, it does face tough competition from other devices in its price range. Overall, the POCO X7 Pro is a solid option for those looking for a feature-packed smartphone without breaking the bank.
