Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan Celebrates 39th Birthday with a Nostalgic Tale

New Delhi: Today marks the 39th birthday of Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan. To commemorate this occasion, we revisit an amusing anecdote involving the actor and his long-time friend, Shraddha Kapoor. Dhawan and Kapoor have maintained a close relationship since childhood and have collaborated on films like ABCD 2 and Street Dancer 3D. Their on-screen chemistry has won them considerable popularity among audiences.

During the promotional events for the December release Baby John, Varun Dhawan recounted a story about a young Shraddha Kapoor’s marriage proposal. In an interaction with YouTuber Shubhnakar Mishra, he revealed an incident from their childhood when Kapoor expressed her affection for him at the age of eight.

Dhawan shared, “It was Shraddha’s tenth birthday, and she had asked me to come to her party. She was in a frock, and there were about four kids who were fond of her. Suddenly, they surrounded me and insisted, ‘Why don’t you like Shraddha?'” He continued, “I replied, ‘I am more interested in the dance competition.’ They insisted that I should like her, claiming it was necessary. I’m not joking. They started a fight with me, and I ended up getting beaten up.”

Despite the altercation, Varun participated in the dance competition and secured the first place, while Shraddha came in third. The duo’s friendship took a significant turn during their teenage years when Varun attended a dance competition at Shraddha’s school. He found himself in another scuffle, wherein he reportedly hit someone with a stick. It was Shraddha who came to his aid and protected him from being pursued by those involved in the altercation.

Varun remarked, “She looked very pretty that day. I do regret not accepting her proposal back then. We eventually became friends, but there’s a lot more to the story. Ask her what happened next.”

For those unaware, Varun Dhawan was recently seen in Border 2 and will next appear in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which also features Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde.
