Redseer, a strategy consulting firm, has released a report titled “AI and the Future of Flexible Workspaces,” which highlights the transformative impact of AI on workplace strategies in India. The report projects that between calendar years 2025 and 2030, the office space dedicated to the knowledge economy may expand by an additional 79 million square feet. A considerable portion of this demand is anticipated to be directed toward managed and flexible workspace formats. Almost 82 percent of enterprises surveyed indicated plans to increase their adoption of flexible workspaces, with AI-driven hiring expected to account for 31 percent of the demand for flexible seating by 2030. Since calendar year 2019, job postings related to AI in India have surged sixfold.

The shift towards flexible working arrangements has emerged as a key factor in attracting top tech talent, according to research from the International Workplace Group, known for brands like Regus and Spaces. The survey found that nearly 72 percent of business leaders believe that hybrid or flexible working is crucial for recruiting tech talent, with this figure increasing to 79 percent among millennial leaders and 80 percent among Gen Z leaders. Hybrid working was identified as the primary strategy for competing for tech talent, utilized by 37 percent of firms, while 35 percent cited competitive pay as a competitive factor. Moreover, around 23 percent of firms are placing professionals under 30 in leadership roles, a figure that rises to 45 percent in businesses led by members of Gen Z.

Published on May 25, 2026, these findings highlight the ongoing evolution in workplace dynamics driven by both technological advancements and changing workforce preferences.
