Swiggy’s Loss Widens, Thangamayil Shines; Reliance Power, Abbott India, Matrimony Await Q3 Results

Info Edge – the parent entity of Naukri – on Wednesday reported a 61 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at about Rs 242.6 crore for the quarter ended December 2024, and the board also approved split of shares in the ratio of 1:5.

The share split is aimed at enhancing the liquidity of the company’s equity shares and encouraging retail participation by making shares more affordable, according to a statutory filing by Info Edge.

The revenue from operations – on a consolidated basis – was nearly 15 per cent higher at Rs 722.3 crore in Q3FY25.

The Q3FY25 net profit attributable to equity holders of parent stood at Rs 242.59 crore, up 61 per cent as compared to same period previous year. — PTI

Redington reported an 18% jump in quarterly profit on Wednesday as the electronics distributor benefitted from steady demand for computers and mobile phones, its largest segments.

Demand for artificial intelligence-powered computers in the corporate and educational sectors as well as new smartphone launches have helped manufacturers and distributors weather inflation-driven choppy demand.

Redington, which is a distributor of Apple and Samsung products, reported a rise in profit to Rs 4 crore ($45.8 million) for the October-December quarter, from Rs 341 crore last year. — Reuters

Muthoot Capital Services Ltd has registered a net profit of ₹39.33 crore in the nine months of FY25 ended December 2024.

The company recorded a quarterly net profit of ₹12.56 crore. The total Assets under Management stood at reached ₹2,833 crore at the end of the quarter, a 19 per cent rise from Q2 2025.

Happiest Minds Technologies reported a 29.5 per cent year-on-year growth in revenue at ₹531 crore for the quarter ended December 2024, driven by strong deal momentum and strategic acquisitions, while profit after tax declined 16 per cent primarily due to acquisition-related charges. 

The company’s utilisation rate improved to 78 per cent from 76.3 per cent. “Our target or goal is to get this to around 80-81 per cent, between 79 to 81 per cent… that would be an optimal number where we would have enough of a pool available to cater to business,” said Joseph Anantharaju, Executive Vice-Chairman. Shares of Asian Paints declined 5 per cent before closing 3 per cent lower on Wednesday following a 23.5 per cent fall in consolidated net profit to ₹1,128.43 crore for the third quarter ended December 2024, and a 6 per cent dip in revenue at ₹8,599.44 crore. 

The stock ended 3.36 per cent lower on the BSE at ₹2,276, after hitting an intraday low of ₹2,235. On the NSE, the stock declined 3.40 per cent to ₹2,274.20.

Downtrading, muted demand and an adverse product mix have dragged the Q3 performance below consensus estimates, forcing brokerages to cut target prices and take divergent calls.

The stock declined 5.10 per cent to Rs 2,235 on the BSE.

At the NSE, it tanked 4.97 per cent to Rs 2,237.25.

Asian Paints on Tuesday reported a decline of 23.5 per cent in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,128.43 crore for the third quarter ended December 2024 amid downtrading due to muted demand and weak festive season.

The company had logged a net profit of Rs 1,475.16 crore during the October-December period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by Asian Paints.

Its revenue from operations went down 6 per cent to Rs 8,549.44 crore in the December quarter. In the year-ago period, it stood at Rs 9,103.09 crore.

During the reporting quarter “muted demand conditions coupled with downtrading, and a weak festive season impacted revenue”, said Asian Paints in its earnings statement.

Shares declined 3.38% on the BSE to ₹419 as at 10.58 am, ahead of Q3 results.

Asian Paints stock fell 3.99% to ₹2,260.30 on reporting a decline of 23.5% in consolidated net profit at ₹1,128.43 crore for the third quarter ended December 2024.

ACME Solar Holdings stock surged 6.73% on the NSE to ₹221.70, on recording a consolidated net profit of ₹112 crore in the December 2024 quarter as against ₹44 crore in the corresponding quarter 2023.

Tata Power reported a 8.2 per cent rise in net profit in the third quarter of FY25 helped by lower tax outgo compared to last year, while revenue from operations rose 5.1 per cent, with growth being witnessed in the transmission and distribution segment.

The company reported consolidated net profit of ₹1,030.7 crore on revenue of ₹15,391 crore. The segmental breakup showed that revenue from generation and renewables showed a fall in the quarter.

Bengaluru-headquartered Titan Company has reported a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of ₹1,047 crore for the quarter that ended on December 31, down by 0.6 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year. The dip in profitability was attributed to custom duty-related losses on inventory, which were fully realised this quarter, noted C K Venkataraman, Managing Director of Titan Company.
