PDS, a global fashion solutions firm with a turnover of ₹10,373 crore, recently acquired a 55% stake in apparel exporter Knit Gallery for ₹41 crore. The acquisition marks PDS’ first manufacturing facility in India, adding to its existing units in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The deal is expected to help Knit Gallery scale up faster and attract more prestigious clients.

At the Bharat Tex 2025 textile trade show in Delhi, PDS showcased its work with various brands and retailers in the textile industry. Founder of Knit Gallery, A Vijay Anand, expressed his excitement about the partnership with PDS and how it would contribute to the growth of the company and create more job opportunities in Tirupur.

Sanjay Jain, the group CEO of PDS, highlighted the company’s focus on providing garments and services to retailers in the UK, US, and Europe. He emphasized the importance of having a presence in the geographies where they source garments to ensure efficiency and compliance in the supply chain.

PDS operates as an asset-light business but also runs some manufacturing facilities to demonstrate its understanding of garment production challenges. The company has set up manufacturing units in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, sourcing garments worth millions of dollars from these facilities.

The PDS story began as a subsidiary of the Pearl Global Group and later evolved into a separate entity under the leadership of Pallak Seth. With headquarters in Mumbai and operations worldwide, PDS offers a range of services to its customers, including design, compliance, and factory management.

In addition to sourcing garments for leading retailers, PDS helps solve various challenges faced by its clients. The company manages factories for a service fee and assists in creating private labels for retailers.

Jain highlighted the complexity of global sourcing, noting the importance of factors like stability, predictability, and duty access in the sourcing strategy. The company works with numerous factories in Turkey, China, Bangladesh, and other countries to meet the diverse needs of its customers.

While PDS primarily serves international markets, it also caters to Indian retailers like Myntra, Red Tape, and Aditya Birla Fashion. The company sees significant growth potential in India’s retail sector and aims to provide supply chain solutions to local retailers.

Looking ahead, PDS plans to leverage its recent acquisition of Knit Gallery and explore opportunities for further expansion in India. With a strong focus on efficiency and customer needs, the company remains committed to delivering innovative solutions in the global sourcing landscape.
