Investors maintained a cautious approach ahead of the monthly futures and options expiry, along with the anticipated outcomes of the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow, October 1, 2025.

The midcap index declined by 0.14 percent, and the smallcap index fell by 0.6 percent. Among sectors, gains were noted in PSU banks and metals, each rising over 1 percent. IT and automotive stocks made modest gains, while the realty, media, FMCG, consumer durables, and pharmaceutical sectors faced selling pressure.
