SEBI Warns ICICI Prudential AMC Following Regulatory Action on Compliance Issues

Capital market regulator SEBI has issued an administrative warning to ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company following a complaint from an investor.

In an announcement to the exchanges, the fund house reported that a complaint was filed by an investor in the ICICI Prudential Strategic Alpha Fund, an alternative investment fund (AIF) managed by the company. The investor alleged that ICICI Prudential AMC did not timely verify the eligibility of investors wishing to participate in the AIF.

SEBI’s review of the complaint revealed a procedural delay in the verification process for an investor’s eligibility regarding one of the schemes under the alternative investment fund. The amount in question was subsequently refunded after the necessary checks were conducted, along with additional compensation.

ICICI Prudential AMC clarified on Wednesday that there is no material impact on the company’s financials, operations, or other activities.
