Range Rover SV Set for Over ₹1 Crore Price Drop in India

New Delhi:

With India and the UK signing the Free Trade Agreement in 2025, luxury car fans in India finally get a break. Premium SUVs from Jaguar Land Rover are about to get a whole lot cheaper. The agreement slashes import duties on fully built units from the UK—from a painful 110 per cent down to just 30 per cent in the first year. That’s massive, especially for high-end SUVs.

Range Rover SV Models: The biggest winners

If you have been planning to buy the top Range Rover model, then here is the good news. The SV lineup—think Range Rover SV, Range Rover Autobiography, Range Rover Sport SV, is set to get the major price cut in India. These models are already popular amongst celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Sonam Kapoor, and Randeep Hooda. And with the new price cut, it makes it just more tempting option to buy.

How much will you save on Range Rover SV models now? Around Rs 1.06 crore

The math is simple. Prices for these luxury SUVs are expected to drop somewhere from 13 per cent to 25 per cent- it will depend on the variant you choose and pick. When you add earlier GST changes, the discount on the top models could go all the way to Rs 1.06 crore.

Here’s what that looks like in numbers:

  • Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two, was Rs 2.75 crore; now, after discount, will cost around Rs 2.35 crore
  • Range Rover 4.4L petrol SV: was priced at Rs 4.25 crore, and after price cut, it will cost around Rs 3.19 crore
  • New Range Rover Sport SV variant: expected at Rs 2.05 crore (ex-showroom)

Not every model gets the price cut: Why?

Now, do not get too excited, as the new price cut applies to certain models. Meaning, it will only be with the UK-imported, fully built SV models which qualify for this new duty cut.

Models like the regular Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar, and Discovery Sport are being assembled and made in Pune. Hence, they are already taxed less, so you will not witness much price reduction there.

Also, the Defender is built in Slovakia, so nothing changes for it either.

The Luxury car race just got faster in India

Jaguar Land Rover already claims about a quarter of India’s luxury car market. With these new price drops, they have just turned up the heat on competitors like Mercedes-Benz and BMW. If you have always wanted a Range Rover, the timing’s never been better—the combination of demand, celebrity buzz, and friendlier prices could push even more buyers to make the leap.
