Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate railway infrastructure projects worth ₹1,535 crore in Telangana on May 10. He will address a public meeting at Parade Grounds in the city that evening.

The projects include multiple sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking initiative, covering a total of 118 kilometers. This initiative aims to enhance line capacity on the heavily-trafficked Grand Trunk Corridor, thus facilitating faster train operations, alleviating congestion, improving punctuality, and increasing freight traffic throughout the region.

Additionally, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass will also be inaugurated. This strategic development is intended to reduce congestion at Kazipet Junction by allowing simultaneous train movements towards Hyderabad, Balharshah, and Vijayawada, which will enhance operational efficiency and minimize delays, according to a government release.

The announcement was made public ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, emphasizing the commitment to improving transportation infrastructure within the region.
