Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his congratulations to the Coal Ministry on Friday for achieving a remarkable milestone of 1 billion tonnes in coal production.

In a post on X, Modi emphasized that this accomplishment signifies a strong commitment to energy security, economic development, and self-reliance. He described it as “a proud moment for India” and recognized the unwavering dedication and hard work of all individuals involved in the sector.

Earlier that day, Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, announced on X that India had reached this significant production milestone. In response to Reddy’s announcement, PM Modi tweeted: “A Proud Moment for India! Achieving the monumental milestone of 1 billion tonnes of coal production is an extraordinary feat that underscores our dedication to energy security, economic advancement, and self-reliance. This achievement is a testament to the commitment and hard work of everyone in the sector.”
