Pakistani Politician Uncovers Islamabad’s Links to Terror Groups Amid Escalating Security Concerns

NEW DELHI: In a revealing statement ahead of the first anniversary of India’s Operation Sindoor, a prominent Pakistani politician has confirmed the involvement of the Pakistani military in supporting designated terrorists Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar. Shaheer Sialvi, chairman of the Pakistan Nazriyati Party, asserted that the military provided formal honors, including military funerals and uniformed pallbearers, for terrorists killed during India’s operations.

Sialvi made these admissions during an event organized by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), effectively dismantling the notion of these individuals as “non-state actors” and highlighting the entrenched institutional backing for terrorist networks, often portrayed under the guise of “freedom fighting.”

He specifically referenced the strikes carried out during Operation Sindoor, focusing on the attacks in Muridke and Bahawalpur — known operational centers for LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). “For the first time, it happened that attacks took place on Muridke and Bahawalpur. These areas had already been identified internationally as terrorist hubs, and India had successfully presented its narrative to the world. This marks the first occasion that if we fought this war, it was under the leadership of Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Masood Azhar,” Sialvi stated.

Additionally, Sialvi revealed that he met with Hafiz Saeed, further emphasizing the close ties between the military and the leadership of these terrorist organizations.
