Novelis Corporation, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited, recently announced the successful pricing of its senior notes offering at $750 million, exceeding its initial target by $250 million. The notes, due in January 2030, will carry an interest rate of 6.875% per annum and were priced at par value. This move reflects the company’s strong financial position and investor confidence in its future prospects.

Hindalco Industries Limited, the parent company of Novelis, saw its shares trading positively on the NSE following this announcement. The proceeds from the offering will primarily be used to repay outstanding borrowings under its revolving credit facility, with the remainder allocated for general corporate purposes. The offering is expected to close on January 13, subject to customary closing conditions.

The notes will be guaranteed jointly and severally on a senior unsecured basis by Novelis Inc. and certain subsidiaries. The offering, conducted through a private placement exempt from registration under the Securities Act of 1933, targets qualified institutional buyers under Rule 144A and offshore transactions under Regulation S.

Novelis, with reported net sales of $16.2 billion in fiscal year 2024, is a key player in the aluminium industry globally. As a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited and part of the Aditya Birla Group, Novelis provides innovative aluminium products and solutions to various industries across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

In conclusion, the successful senior notes offering by Novelis reflects the company’s strategic financial planning and market positioning. With a solid plan for the use of proceeds and strong global operations, Novelis is well-positioned for continued growth and success in the aluminium industry.
