Proximus Global and Nokia have recently announced a strategic partnership aimed at integrating their network API solutions to facilitate the development of new enterprise applications. As part of the agreement, Proximus Global’s network APIs will now be accessible on Nokia’s Network as Code platform, while Nokia will leverage Proximus Global’s market presence to distribute its CAMARA and 5G APIs on a global scale.

At 11.40 am today, the shares of ROUTE MOBILE LIMITED were trading at ₹1,047.95, showing an increase of ₹46.80 or 4.67 per cent on the NSE. This collaboration between Proximus Global and Nokia will primarily focus on enhancing API capabilities in areas such as network slicing for 5G private networks and fraud protection services. Proximus Global plans to utilize Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform and Enterprise API Hub to provide developers access to network capabilities across its 5G and 4G networks.

Christophe Van De Weyer, the Chief Product Officer at Proximus Global and CEO of Telesign, emphasized the intention to complement existing communication APIs with network APIs that offer new value-added solutions to enterprise customers. Potential applications include real-time fraud prevention using location data and network slicing capabilities for large events like concerts.

Nokia’s Network as Code platform, which was launched in September 2023, already includes 55 partners such as BT, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, and Telefonica. With this partnership, Nokia aims to expand its API monetization strategy beyond network-side aggregation to encompass hyperscalers, CPaaS providers, and vertical software vendors.
