Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, announced a new initiative aimed at reducing electricity costs for both residential and industrial consumers over the next two to three years. During a press conference in Nagpur, Fadnavis stated, “We have developed a comprehensive plan for the next 25 years, which includes a strategy to lower electricity rates for industries and households.”

He emphasized that the state government is focused on promoting solar energy, mentioning plans to install solar panels in all homes built under state and central government schemes.

Fadnavis highlighted the influx of investments into Maharashtra and stated that this would lead to an increase in job opportunities. “Our goal is to achieve balanced and inclusive development, giving equal priority to social welfare and infrastructure projects,” he asserted.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the implementation of six river-linking initiatives aimed at transforming the state and ensuring that drought-prone areas, such as Vidarbha, have access to sufficient water resources.

Additionally, he expressed ambitions for Gadchiroli district to emerge as a significant steel hub in India, with several ongoing projects that are expected to benefit the local economy and neighboring districts in Vidarbha.

Regarding media regulations, Fadnavis shared that the government will formulate a comprehensive policy addressing all forms of media, particularly in relation to online platforms.
